{"id":1095,"date":"2018-10-01T11:50:14","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T11:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uncertain2degrees.blogs.uni-hamburg.de\/?p=1095"},"modified":"2018-10-02T10:37:25","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T10:37:25","slug":"how-to-give-feedback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uncertain2degrees.blogs.uni-hamburg.de\/?p=1095","title":{"rendered":"How to&#8230; give feedback"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Giving \u2013 and receiving \u2013 helpful feedback<\/h2>\n<p>When <strong>giving feedback<\/strong>, there are a few pointers that help making it easier for you to give and for the other person to receive feedback:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the sandwich-principle: Start and end with positive remarks.<\/li>\n<li>Be descriptive: Make sure both of you know exactly what you are talking about.<\/li>\n<li>Be concrete: Point out exactly what you like and where you see potential for improvement.<\/li>\n<li>Be constructive: Show options of how you might improve upon what is there.<\/li>\n<li>Be realistic: If you are working on a tight timeline, do consider whether pointing out all issues is necessary or whether there are points that are more essential than others.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t overdo it: Point out a pattern rather than criticizing every single occurrence of a systematic problem.<\/li>\n<li>Point out your subjectivity: You are not an objective judge.
