I am part of a student group that wants to make our canteens and food options on campus more sustainable and healthy.<\/p>\n

Our latest approach was to demand that the canteens on our campus adopt the Planetary Health Diet (PHD) concept, which was developed by the international EAT-Lancet Commission. The PHD concept provides a framework for adapting our food system to ensure a healthy diet for everyone while staying within planetary boundaries. The recommended diet is predominantly plant-based but includes modest quantities of dairy products, meat and fish.<\/p>\n

In my poster presentation, I will explain what the PHD is and how we applied the concept to the canteens, given that the original concept primarily outlines how personal consumption should be adapted. I will also share insights into implementing our concept in a public institution, such as the Studierendenwerk Hamburg. Furthermore, I will outline the problems we have encountered so far and present steps that have been taken to solve them. As the implementation process is not yet complete, I will additionally discuss planned future steps and highlight some of the remaining issues.<\/p>\n
