Big changes always start with a small step.
We can contribute by taking action at home, rather than relying solely on policies or stakeholders.
How? By reducing our waste, saving energy like turning off even a single bulb to lower demand on power plants, especially those burning fossil fuels, and choosing sustainable products and behaviors.
When more of us act, the impact multiplies and can help to drive global impact. Our everyday choices can shape our climate future.
Dear Hamza,
Yes, you are right – when may small steps add together, we may achieve a huge leap. However, there has been ample studies on the notion of reduction of climate footprints and the structural changes that are inhibited by focusing on indiviual behavior. I would challenge this underlying hypothesis, when it comes to climate change mitigation. It has been revealed that big oil has a big interest in pushing responsibility towards individuals in order not to be held responsible. So, be careful 😉
You may, of course, go along this line, but then I would agree with Jan’s comment to be a bit more concrete and narrow the field of action. You may as well draw on the conflict (or complement) between individual action and structural change. But this is also a big topic, so you would need to make this along one example. One suggestion could be the above-mentioned notion of the climate or CO2 footprint.
Good success with your poster!
Hi Hamza,
Researching our personal routine and habits sounds interesting, as everybody can put their grain of sand on the issue. It also makes us reflect on ourselves and be more conscious of our actions. Reminds me of the book “atomic habits” by James Clear, in your case, for better climate futures.
The topic seems quite broad as well. Do you want to keep this scope? Or would you like to focus more on specific tasks, like diet changes or consumption habits?
