The climate crisis is over – but who owns the world now?

Today’s wealth distribution is marked by significant inequalities, both within and between nations. Globally, about 85% of all wealth is held by 12% of all adults. The climate crisis, our response(s) to it, and the dynamics of wealth inequality are all inherently linked. Therefore this provides an interesting research venue, how future actions with regard to climate mitigation could affect the inequalities and potentielly reduce them.

  1. The topic starts with a strong claim — The climate crisis is over — which would be a topic on it;s own to discuss. This would include questions such as: Why is the climate crisis over? What does the term climate ‘crisis’ mean? in addition, ‘climate crisis’ is not the only loaded notation that is used without providing context.
I strongly suggest to focus the analysis on one specific aspect for which first the assumptions are explicitly outlined — based on the existing literature.
